The candidates of Miss Earth 2011 attended an environmental seminar on Monday, November 21 at the Tamarraw Hall, Bulwagan Ninoy, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City. In line with the theme of the International Year of the Forests, the candidates learned more about the forestry efforts all over Asia with focus on the Philippines.

Before the start of the lectures, the candidates got to know each other better by sharing tree-vias about themselves. 3 speakers shared their knowledge on the topic: Dr. Sherlock Shih-Liang Tu, PhD from Asian Development Bank, Ms. Julie Ibuan from DENR and Asec. Marlo D. Mendoza from DENR (National Greening Program)

The delegates also briefly visited the Rescue Center where they saw animals such as snakes, birds, tigers, bear cats and iguanas whick were confiscated and rescued from all over the country.

ROSOTRO's MEC Girls at Bruny Surin Annual Gala Event

The Tenth Annual Bruny Surin Gala Dinner Event for the benefit of the Free the Children Foundation was held last tuesday, October the 4th at Cavalli Restaurant. Some of the Ladies from Miss Earth CANADA volunteered for the occasion which raised more than $84,000.
It was also a night to be remembered by Kim Larivée who was officially crowned as Miss Earth Quebec 2011 by Miss Earth CANADA Provincial Director for Québec Miss Daphney Augustin. The MEC Girls included Kim, Pauline Ranjbar, Julie Gauthier and Miss Philippine Montreal Andi Neufeld.
The event was hosted by CTV personality Mose Persico, who did an awesome job. Supporting Bruny Surin were his fellow Famous Athletes: Alex Bilodeau (Free Style Skier), a Canadian hero who won the first Gold Medal on Canadian soil, Alexandre Despatie( Three time World champion and Olympic medallist) and Joannie Rochette (Olympic medalist- figure skating).
